Plant Care Routine

1. Light ☀️

  • Ideal: Bright, indirect light to maintain vibrant pink variegation.
  • Avoid:
    • Low light — reduces pink coloration and leads to mostly green leaves.
    • Direct sunlight — can scorch delicate variegated areas.
  • Tip: Near an east or north-facing window, or filtered light through a sheer curtain in brighter rooms.

2. Watering 💧

  • Frequency: Water when the top 2–3 inches (5–7 cm) of soil feel dry. Typically every 7–10 days, depending on temperature and humidity.
  • Method: Water thoroughly until it drains out the bottom, then empty saucer to prevent root rot.
  • Winter: Reduce watering frequency — allow more time for soil to dry out.

3. Humidity 🌫️

  • Ideal: High humidity (60%–80%) to prevent browning edges and promote lush growth.
  • Tips:
    • Mist occasionally, especially in dry environments.

4. Temperature 🌡️

  • Ideal Range: 18–27°C (65–80°F).
  • Avoid: Temperatures below 15°C (59°F), cold drafts, and sudden changes. Keep away from heaters and air conditioners.

5. Fertilizing 🌱

  • Frequency: Every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer (active growing period).
  • Type: Balanced liquid fertilizer (diluted to half strength) — optional to choose a fertilizer with a slight nitrogen boost for foliage.
  • Fall/Winter: Fertilize less or pause until growth resumes in spring.
