Plant Care Routine
1. Light ☀️
- Ideal: Bright, indirect light to maintain vibrant pink variegation.
- Avoid:
- Low light — reduces pink coloration and leads to mostly green leaves.
- Direct sunlight — can scorch delicate variegated areas.
- Tip: Near an east or north-facing window, or filtered light through a sheer curtain in brighter rooms.
2. Watering 💧
- Frequency: Water when the top 2–3 inches (5–7 cm) of soil feel dry. Typically every 7–10 days, depending on temperature and humidity.
- Method: Water thoroughly until it drains out the bottom, then empty saucer to prevent root rot.
- Winter: Reduce watering frequency — allow more time for soil to dry out.
3. Humidity 🌫️
- Ideal: High humidity (60%–80%) to prevent browning edges and promote lush growth.
- Tips:
- Mist occasionally, especially in dry environments.
4. Temperature 🌡️
- Ideal Range: 18–27°C (65–80°F).
- Avoid: Temperatures below 15°C (59°F), cold drafts, and sudden changes. Keep away from heaters and air conditioners.
5. Fertilizing 🌱
- Frequency: Every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer (active growing period).
- Type: Balanced liquid fertilizer (diluted to half strength) — optional to choose a fertilizer with a slight nitrogen boost for foliage.
- Fall/Winter: Fertilize less or pause until growth resumes in spring.
